Before booking your tour to Jordan, please take a moment to read the following important information. These notes will help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

1. Entry Requirements & Visa

Most travellers, including UK and EU citizens, can obtain a visa on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman.
Alternatively, you can apply for a visa in advance from the Jordanian embassy.
If you purchase the Jordan Pass, your visa fee is waived, and you gain free entry to many sites, including Petra.

2. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, cancellations, and personal belongings is highly recommended.
Ensure your policy covers adventure activities if you plan to hike in Petra or Wadi Rum.

3. Currency & Payments

The local currency is the Jordanian Dinar (JOD).
Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in cities but carry cash for smaller towns, markets, and Wadi Rum.
ATMs are available in major cities like Amman, Petra, and Aqaba.

4. Health & Safety

Jordan is a safe and welcoming country with a low crime rate. However, always stay aware of your surroundings.
Tap water is not recommended for drinking; bottled water is widely available.

5. Weather & Packing Tips

Jordan has a desert climate. Summers (May–September) are hot, while winters (November–March) can be cold, especially in Petra and Wadi Rum.
Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring Petra.
A light scarf or shawl is useful for visiting religious sites and protecting against dust in the desert.

6. Dress Code & Cultural Respect

Jordan is a moderate Muslim country. While there’s no strict dress code, modest clothing is appreciated, especially outside tourist areas.
For men and women, covering shoulders and knees is recommended when visiting religious or rural areas.
