Journey Through Java and Bali

Arrive in Jakarta, meet and greet with a tour guide, and then transfer to your hotel for a stay overnight and Dinner at the hotel. 

Breakfast and check out from hotel, then drive to Bogor and visit Bogor Botanical Garden. The garden complex, founded in 1817, with fish ponds and lotus gardens is an oasis of calm in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the big city and houses a museum as well as huge jungle trees. 

Continue driving to Bandung via toll highway. 

Lunch will be served in a local restaurant on the way.

Arrive in Bandung, check in hotel and free at leisure. 

Today you will travel over the hills of Lembang to the active volcano Tangkuban Perahu. From the crater rim, you will enjoy a unique view of the smoking crater with its clouds of sulphur. You will then continue to the Sariater tea plantation, where you will take a walk through the plantation and then watch the tea factory workers as they process the tea leaves. 

You will have lunch in a local restaurant before returning to your hotel in Bandung. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.

Morning check out and transfer to the train station to board to Yogyakarta by morning Executive train. 

                  The train will depart from Bandung at 06.30 AM and arrive in Yogyakarta at 13.15 PM. 

                  Lunch provided enroute. 

                  Arrive in Yogyakarta, then transfer to the hotel for stay overnight. 

Breakfast at the hotel then embark on an excursion to unfold the history and culture of the city. Visit the 18th-century Kraton Sultanate’s palace and the former royal garden of the Sultanate Taman Sari Water Castle. Continue visit to the magnificent Hindu’s temple, Prambanan Temple and uncover the ancient Ramayana reliefs of the Syiwa and Brahma Temple at Prambanan Temple Complex. At Wisnu Temple, you will see a detailed depiction of Krisna’s life carved into the stonework.  

Lunch is provided at a local restaurant en route. 

After the tour, then had Dinner while watching the Ramayana performance at Purawisata. 

Breakfast at hotel. Then drive to Magelang and visit Borobudur Temple, the massive stone stupa of Borobudur is one the greatest of all ancient architectural monuments. Built with forced labor from the surrounding countryside between about AD 750 and 850, Borobudur predates Angkor Wat in Cambodia by three centuries. Its ensembles of stone relief panels are virtual history of Mahayana Budhist doctrine as well as providing scholars with detailed information about life in 8th and 9th century Java. Buried under volcanic ash and tropical growth, it was only rediscovered in 1815. It has recently been fully restored by an International effort under the aegis of UNESCO. Nearby, there is Mendut Temple can be visited. 

                  Afternoon, return to hotel in Yogyakarta and free at leisure. 

Breakfast and check out from the hotel, then drive to Malang with a route visit Mangkunegaran Palace. The palace is still inhabited by the royal family today and is partially open to visitors. Continue to drive to Malang with Lunch provided at local restaurant en route.

Early wake up this morning for a sunrise tour of Mt. Bromo. You will be transferred by 4WD jeep  for the last 30 minutes of the drive. Around 0500 you’ll arrive at Pananjakan viewing spot with stunning views of the Bromo volcano and surroundings. Watch the sun rise up from behind the volcano. 

Continue by jeep down to the volcano caldera, often still covered by mist in the early morning. 

The mist, combined with the grey ashen-covered ground form to create an unusual atmosphere, often compared to the surface of the moon.

A 20-minute ride on horseback will take you to a set of stairs which lead to the rim of Bromo crater. 

After the tour, drive to back to the hotel for breakfast and check out, then drive to Kalibaru.

Arrive in Kalibaru, check in hotel and free at leisure. 

Breakfast and check out from the hotel, then drive to visit Kalibaru Plantation, view some picturesque plantations and gardens where we can find Vanilla, coffee, coconut, snake-fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, rubber trees, cocoa are the variety of crops you will encounter on the trip. 

Continue driving to Ketapang Harbour to cross to Gilimanuk Harbour by ferry. 

Lunch at a local restaurant en route. 

Arrive in Bali, then drive to Lovina for your accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Munduk, a traditional village in the interior, to the northern mountains of Bali. The landscapes of Bali are at their best. It is a fertile agricultural region with both sides of the road spectacular rice terraces, with here and there an idyllic village. Walk along the field, clove plantations and rice fields. The trek will be ended at Munduk Waterfall which is surrounded by lush vegetation.

Then drive back to your hotel. 

Breakfast and check out from hotel, drive to Ubud with enroute stop at the coolest mountain resort of Bedugul to visit Ulun Danu Temple floating on its calm blue waters of Lake Beratan. Then to Jatiluwih – a beautiful rice terrace unfolding from mountain until the coastal side and to be places of interest to be visited in west part of Bali. 

Continue drive to Ubud, check in hotel and free at leisure.

Bali is famous for its traditional dances. One of them is the famous Barong & Keris Dance telling a story from the ancient Ramayana Epic. Our first stop during this tour is to enjoy the beauty and gracefulness of the skillful Balinese dancers. The dance expresses the eternal fight between good and evil spirits and ends with the magical Keris (dagger) dance. Then we will proceed to the Village of Kemenuh to visit the talented Balinese woodcarving artists in their traditional workshops. You will see how they carve beautiful statues and works of art from a single block of wood. The journey then continues to Kintamani to view the breathtaking Lake Batur and the active volcano called Mount Batur (1,730 meters). Here is an opportunity for you to have lunch (own account) with an amazing view. Our next destination is Tampaksiring, ‘The Fountain of Youth” and Holy Spring of Tirta Empul. 

After the tour, return to the hotel and free at leisure. 

Today you will start the fullday tour with the first visit to Mengwi, where the famous Taman Ayun was built for The Prince of Tabanan in the early 17th century. This important temple is surrounded by a large moat, signifying the world of the ocean. Continue visit to Alas Kedaton monkey forest. 

Save some space in your memory card for the spectacular Tanah Lot Temple. This temple is built on the top of a rock in the Indian Ocean, just a few hundred meters offshore. Watch the rough sea as it crashes into the coast. 

Afternoon, return to hotel.

In the morning, drive to Ubud Central for a cooking class. A warm welcome from the villagers awaits you and savour a simple Balinese breakfast served with coffee or tea. Prior, stop at a traditional local market where you will purchase the ingredients of today class such as spices, vegetables etc. Next, enjoy a Cooking Class which offers a fascinating introduction to the exotic ingredients and unique culture of Balinese food. Gain a valuable insight into the techniques of preparation and cooking which is used daily in homes all over the island.

After your lunch which is served on a hut facing the ricefield, you may join in a rural activity that allows you to experience how the farmers work in the rice fields. You will learn how to plant, transplant or harvest rice (depending on the season) and in the same time, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Subak, the Balinese traditional irrigation system that is a UNESCO-recognized method of sustainable farming. Proceed to Pengelipuran, a traditional village that preserves their traditional Balinese house architecture till today. This same form of typical Balinese entrance stands in a row on the left and right side of the village.

Afterwards, return to your hotel and free at leisure.

Morning check out and transfer to Padang Bai harbour to cross to Gili trawangan by fast boat.
